your first visit

The purpose of your initial consult and exam is for the doctor to gather as much information as possible in order to make the most accurate recommendations for your particular case. Your initial paperwork provides information about your health history with special emphasis on your past and present lifestyle, so please take the time to complete it with accuracy. The main focus of the exam is to assess your spine for subluxation, which affects your overall health and wellness.

If you have filled out your Confidential Case History Form, please arrive 10 minutes early for your appointment. Otherwise, please arrive 20 minutes early in order to complete paperwork and receive an orientation to the office.

The exam begins with a computerized analysis of your spinal postural muscles and temperature balance. Then the doctor examines your posture, range of motion, and the muscles and joints of your spine. The final step is to perform a computerized analysis of your gait to determine if your problems are coming from the “ground up”. Many patients report that this is the most thorough hands-on physical examination they have ever received!

Following your visit the doctor carefully analyzes the results of your exam in order to prepare your individual report of findings. This will be presented on your follow-up visit and will include your individual findings and recommendations. Only in exceptional circumstances will the doctor perform an adjustment during the initial consult. This is to ensure that your first adjustment is tailored to your particular needs.

Your initial consult and exam lasts approximately 40 minutes. Special attire is not required.
